What we Aim To Be…
The Stag & Lantern is a relaxed, community-focused micropub with a cosy, welcoming environment to meet old friends and make new ones. We offer an exceptional range of cask and craft beer, ciders, bottled and canned beer, wine, mixers & soft drinks.
Our goal is to become a point of pride for the community and a destination worth visiting. The Stag & Lantern will be welcoming to all. We strongly believe in supporting the local community and independent companies. We will only serve exceptional produce.
Who We Are…
The Stag & Lantern is founded by Robert, a local resident, beer lover and homebrewer who has been longing for a local pub where you can relax, drink beautiful beer and socialise with friendly faces.
The bar team is headed up by Mel and John.
What Is a Micropub?
Over recent years Micropubs have seen a surge in popularity and are viewed as an antithesis to the modern pub landscape. They are small, independent and community focused. They exist to serve as a social hub for the community and not as a means for large corporations to make money.
The Meaning
The name Stag & Lantern is a throwback to traditional English pub names whilst being unique and representative of the local area. The stag represents the local forests of the area whilst the lantern is symbolic as a beacon of light, and represents East London and human industry.
The Future
We plan to always improve, grow and branch out into exciting directions. This includes installing draft beer taps (now done) and introducing a growler takeaway beer service.
